Last Friday, ALA had its annual opening ceremony to officially welcome the first year students in. To celebrate, each country dressed up in their traditional garb and danced up front in the auditorium. To top it off, ALA brought in Vusi Mahlasela, a famous African singer, to perform a live concert. The night made me realize why I'm here at ALA. It was awesome. I danced. I cried. I laughed. I sang. It finally felt like this place is home.
Heck yes for Malawi and Zambia!
